Pre-employment Functional Screening
Pre-employment Functional Screening (PES) are an essential tool for any organisation wanting a profile of a potential workers physical capabilities, health and well-being.
A PES effectively determines an individual’s functional capabilities and limitations in relation to a specific job.
The PES:
- Identifies potential medical, musculoskeletal and lifestyle risks of prospective employees
- Objectively measures an individual’s physical capabilities in relation to a specific job
- Determines the physical capabilities of the potential employee to meet the physical demands of the position description
- Provides recommendations / considerations / restrictions / modifications which may be required if the organisation was to employ this person to the specific position
- Recommends referral to GP, allied health professional if a medical or serious musculo-skeletal condition is identified
- Provides physical conditioning recommendations to ensure the potential employee maintains and enhances their physical capability to complete the job specific task.
