PACE Exercise Physiology has been independently owned and operated by a team of exercise physiologists for over ten years.
We pride ourselves on being the benchmark for exercise physiology services in Victoria. One of the key ingredients underpinning the success of our business is our commitment to developing our staff, our profession and our clients.
PACE seeks ongoing recommendations and guidance from a National Human Resource Manager from a large multi-national company on the structure and strategies to ensure that our staff, our placements, our trainees and our business are performing optimally.
The PACE Exercise Physiology Traineeship is for applicants commencing their career as an exercise physiologist or tertiary qualified exercise specialist (personal trainer).
This is your opportunity to learn, be supported and developed by the most experienced and committed exercise physiology team in Victoria.
The PACE Exercise Physiology team has worked for over ten years to develop our reputation amongst medical and allied health professionals and clients alike as leaders in exercise prescription. As a PACE Exercise Physiology Trainee the entire PACE team will be committed to seeing that our newest recruit matches and exceeds this reputation.
Our mission for the traineeship is to nuture and develop the best exercise physiologists and exercise specialists to join the PACE team.
PACE will accept applications for the PACE Exercise Physiology Traineeship from October 1st - 8th and June 1st- 8th each year.
To be eligible for a PACE Exercise Physiology Traineeships you must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate exercise science degree and have completed a minimum of two weeks clinical placement with PACE.
i.e. The best placements will be offered traineeships, if you haven't completed a placement apply for a placement before applying for a traineeship.
The PACE Exercise Physiology Traineeship is twelve weeks in duration, it involves:
- A one on one professional development session with a staff member each week on topics pertaining to clinical practice, networking, presentation skills, client service and practical knowledge
- Access to all PACE Exercise Physiology lectures and presentations
- Access to all PACE literature/research articles gathered by our staff
- Access to relevant externally provided workshops and courses
- Three month Key Result Area (similar to KPI’s) development with management
- Career development/professional mentoring by senior experienced Exercise Physiologists
- Provision of exercise physiology and exercise specialist (personal training) services to clients
Remuneration:
All PACE Exercise Physiologists will be paid at a PACE Exercise Physiology Trainee Rate for all client hours that they complete.
What happens next?
At the conclusion of your traineeship contract (3 months), you will have an exit interview to discuss your achievement of KRA’s, interest in continuing with PACE (you would be paid at the PACE EP/Exercise Specialist award rate).

Include: “PACE EP Traineeship Application 2010" and your name. The file needs to be saved as 97-2003 Microsoft Word compatible. Applicaion submitted outside this period will not be considered.
Email your Traineeship Application in same email but separate file, answering the following criteria:

The

- Specifically outline what specialist knowledge/skills you will bring to the PACE Team
- Provide a list of 12 consecutive week periods that you are available for Traineeship
- What area of exercise physiology/exercise science would you like to specialise in?
- Provide specific reasons as to how your past employment, sporting or other history will assist you in providing exercise physiology/specialist services.
- Specifically outline your plans for the next 6-12 months in relation to your career/learning/professional development.
- Visit the PACE Website locations page – list the locations you would be willing to travel to in your placement, also provide the hours you would be prepared to work. (Traineeship will require no more than 30 hours contact time per week)
- A short list of applicants will be interviewed at the end of the month following the application period, i.e. end of February or June.
- If you have not received notification for an interview, your application has been unsuccessful. You are welcome to apply again in the next intake.
