Cognitive Assessments for Children Age 3+

Expressions of Interest

A new comprehensive assessment
service for young children.

Early childhood is a crucial time for growth. Sometimes parents notice their child is having difficulty reaching milestones.

Our psychologists are launching a comprehensive cognitive and developmental assessment service for children age 3 and up, and we are opening it to expressions of interest first. If your child could benefit from a clearer picture before school starts or early intervention, register your interest below.

Who may benefit from a comprehensive assessment?

Our psychologists assess young children who may display challenges with overall development, speech and language, social interaction, behaviour, or readiness for school. The assessment is designed for families wanting a clearer picture before starting school or early intervention, or who are simply want reassurance and direction.

When to refer to a psychologist?

A referral may be helpful if your child is showing delays in reaching developmental milestones, has difficulty communicating or understanding others, shows differences in social behaviours, or if there are concerns about how they'll cope with the structure and demands of school.

What's involved?

Using a combination of play-based and structured tasks, we explore your child's thinking and problem-solving skills, their understanding and use of language, their behaviour and emotional wellbeing, and their everyday independence skills like dressing, following routines, and interacting with others. Together, this gives a well-rounded picture of your child's strengths and challenges to inform personalised recommendations.
